CASAGIOVE, Recipes & Notes for a Happy Home

Sometimes things don’t work out the way you thought you wanted them to… and that’s okay. The process of trying to open a market has taught me a lot and helped me to push myself and grow in ways I didn’t think possible. In fact, I realized that the true heart of Casagiove California isn’t the physical market, but rather, connecting with you about food and family…

Want some ideas for a simple, yummy dinner? Here you go!

Want to know my favorite type of product? Sure thing!

Want a recommendation for this or that? You got it!

Want to come over and practice making something together? Please do!

I want to inspire and encourage you to prepare meals for your loved ones and more importantly, to make time for eating together. I want to provide a space for exchanging ideas and being creative. Stay tuned for a revised version of Casagiove California that focuses on recipes and notes for a happy home. I am going to keep it really simple— just a recipe and some notes, every now and then. Most recipes will be informal; there won’t be a lot of exact measurements or steps because cooking doesn’t need to be exact. What it does need is love, along with a little bit of time and intention. I’m hoping my recipes and notes will bring you to the table and connect us to one another in a lovely way, as it has done for my family.

Insalata di Bistecca // Steak Salad

On an especially frustrating or long day, I love to ask for dinner ideas to help inject a little more “buy in”. Many times, the requests revolve around some type of meat and this particularly sultry summer day was no different. Ben injected just a little twist to address the fact that it was hot […]

Pasta d’Estate // Summer Pasta

Trips to my local markets, pasta memories from when I spent my summers in Italy and beautiful tomato pictures on my Instagram feed (like the ones below) inspired this summer pasta recipe. https://www.instagram.com/p/CEE02cWlRzO/?igshid=1mcrtot8dkxk2 https://www.instagram.com/p/CDW5jJvo3dn/?igshid=kkird983apf9 There’s nothing like heirloom tomatoes and basil to freshen up a hot summer day. This pasta dish is summer on a […]

~the following is N°1 in the series, Tutti a tavola // Come to the table~ Although summer of 2020 may look quite different than past summers, one thing remains the same– our need for gathering around the table as a family each evening. In fact, the warm Italian invitation, Tutti a tavola! // Come to […]

N°2 Improvising in Positano

~the following is N°2 in the series, Un’estate senza fine // An endless summer~ While staying in Sorrento, we knew we had to set some time aside to visit the Amalfi coast. Un bel panino // The perfect sandwich

As a young girl, I spent many summers in the Campania region of Italy. One of my favorite everyday things to eat was a panino. A panino is the Italian word for sandwich, but it is nothing like the sandwiches that are often called “Italian” in the United States. It is easy to make, tasty […]

Chi siamo— About us

Patricia I love being Italian. Both of my parents were born in Italy and made a point of raising me to appreciate my heritage, in addition to valuing the freedom and opportunity that America provides. My mother and I would visit the Campania region (where she grew up and her family lived) often. My most […]
